WELCOME TO INFANCY RESEARCH

At Infancy Research we study some of the early social, cognitive, and communicative skills that are essential for optimal learning and development. Our research also seeks to identify communicative disorders such as autism early in life. We study typically developing infants between birth and 3 years of age. In addition, we conduct research with children diagnosed with autism and infants who are at risk for autism.

Infancy Research importance of communication

Our research helps parents and caregivers to understand the complexities of infant and child development.
We research some of the most basic questions:

  • Why is eye contact so important?
  • How do infants learn?
  • What are the precursors of language?
  • Can infants learn from television?
